Goals of the group

The goal of the group is to connect with others experiencing heartbreak. A non-judgemental, open and safe space, to explore the change in your identity as an individual in a relationship and by yourself. Together understanding the struggles of moving on, self-care and developing a positive relationship with yourself.

Who is the group for?

The group is designed for anyone who has experienced heartbreak and is finding it hard to move on.
The group is aimed at people of all ages, sexes and genders. No matter how long the relationship was, you’ll learn how to cope and deal with the loss better.

Session 1: The Heartbreak: Understanding the experience

• Sharing personal experiences of heartbreak in a safe, non-judgmental environment
• Understanding the impact of heartbreak on your life.

Session 2: Grief and Loss: Navigating your journey

• Understanding the grieving process
• Creating space for acknowledging and processing emotions surrounding the loss
• Exploring tools and strategies to support and heal from the loss

Session 3: Rebuilding and Refining: Understanding your Needs and Expectations

• Exploring past relationship patterns and behaviours
• Identifying core values and needs
• Defining healthy expectations for future relationships
• Working towards breaking negative patterns

Session 4: Moving Forward with Heartbreak: Building Resilience and Skills

• Reflecting on the journey so far and the progress made
• Setting personal goals
• Developing a plan for creating fulfilling relationships moving forward
• Practicing skills and tools for forging ahead on the new path with confidence

Meet your Facilitator

Drishti Jaisingh

"Drishti is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist with a Master of Arts (M.A.) focused in Clinical Psychology from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. And MPhil in Clinical Psychology, from Manipal Academy of Higher Education

She hopes to create a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals and couples, to explore their internal struggles & conflicts, as they improve their existing coping mechanisms and come out learning newer skills. Drishti has worked with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, across educational institutions, non-profit organizations and treatment facilities."

What happens in a group session?

While the format can vary as per topic, here’s a flow that most sessions follow

Check In. Participants check-in with each others' feelings and answer the prompt given by the facilitator if any.

Conversation. Your facilitator will guide the group in a free-flowing conversation—with the goal of sharing openly, talking honestly, and deep emotional connection.

Check Out. Participants share what they're taking away from the session.

What am I going to get out of this?

Participants say that they feel heard, understood, more in control, and a feeling that you’ve got people rooting for you. By talking about your emotions and what's going on in your life, you'll realise that you're not alone and get ideas for how to improve your situation.
