About me

Sharad Kasera is a Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) registered rehabilitation counselor with over 8 years of experience and more than 1,000 successful interventions in mental health. His core expertise lies in addiction therapy, suicide prevention, anxiety, depression, and an evolving specialization in psychosexual health and couple counseling.

Sharad’s clinical perspective was profoundly shaped during a transformative three-month certification at NIMHANS in Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Promotion. While posted at Victoria Hospital, he worked directly with individuals who had attempted suicide—counseling both them and their families. This frontline exposure deepened his understanding of crisis recovery, emphasizing the emotional and systemic dimensions of healing.

He further expanded his capabilities by completing the Tobacco Cessation Program at NIMHANS, enabling him to address substance-related health risks using evidence-based strategies.

Drawing from extensive experience in clinical and community-based de-addiction settings, Sharad offers structured and integrative support for individuals dealing with substance use, behavioral addictions (including technology, gaming, and pornography), and co-occurring concerns such as depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation.

His therapeutic approach blends techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), the Stages of Change Model, and mindfulness-based practices—all culturally adapted to align with both Indian and Western contexts. He places strong emphasis on psychoeducation and family involvement as vital parts of long-term recovery.

Sharad also regularly facilitates individual and group therapy focused on relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and sustainable functioning.

Currently advancing a deeper specialization in psychosexual health, he provides stigma-free, clinically grounded support for concerns such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, vaginismus, and anorgasmia. His work in this domain is rooted in a strong belief in culturally competent care—bridging the silence around sexual wellness with science-backed interventions.

Therapy Bookings: Terms & Conditions

Sessions coordinated directly with the therapist

Once you book a session with a therapist via SoulUp, we put you in touch with them via WhatsApp allowing you and your therapist to coordinate on a mutually convenient time.

Cancellation policy

You can reschedule or cancel sessions or switch therapists upto 24 hours of the slotted time, post which no rescheduling or refund of sessions is possible.

Late to session policy

If you are over 15 mins late to the session, then the session will be held cancelled and no refund will be available. This has been done to ensure a 'full' session for you as well as to ensure enough gap-time for the therapist before their next session.

Cancelling part of a bundled session

For sessions bought as bundle of 4 at discounted price - if after n sessions, either the therapist or the client wants to discontinue sessions, we initiate refund of remaining sessions. In this case, the actual non-discounted price is deducted for each completed session (instead of the pro-rata amount per session) from the price of the bundled offering and the refund is issued.
