Who is the group for?

• Adults (18-50) who have been living with/ have been recently diagnosed with epilepsy.
• Those who have experienced the lack of emotional support for navigating life with epilepsy.

Meet your Facilitator

Dr. Porrselvi A.P

PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience; M.Sc. Neuroscience; M.Sc. Counselling and Psychotherapy; B.Sc. Psychology; Certifications in Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy, Montessori Dementia Care, Learning Difficulties, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Problem Solving Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Clinical Research.

Dr. Porrselvi A.P., is the founder and neuropsychologist at Unified Brain Health Care, Chennai, India where she heads a passionate group of therapists who form a multi-disciplinary team working towards the neurological and psychological rehabilitation of children, teens, adults, and the elderly. She worked as a Clinical Psychologist (Neuropsychology) at King's College Hospital, London, UK.

She has a decade of experience as a Cognitive Neuropsychologist and is a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society as well as a HCPC Registered Practiotioner Psychologist. She was awarded the Early Career Award by the International Neuropsychological Society in 2022.

She is the co-chair of the membership committee of Asian Neuropsychological Association. She is a member of the Neurorehabilitation and Cognitive Neurology subsections of the Indian Academy of Neurology and is a member of the Indian Federation of Neurorehabilitation and the International Neuropsychological Society.

Are Group sessions done on video?

Yes, all group sessions are conducted on video via Zoom. While participants are allowed to use pseudonyms - they need to be on video to make the most of the session.

How is confidentiality maintained in Groups?

Confidentiality in Support Groups is maintained using secure meeting links and enabling waiting rooms to control participant access. Participants are bound by mutual confidentiality clause within the group. Also, sessions are not recorded without explicit consent.

What happens in a group session?

While the format can vary as per topic, here’s a flow that most sessions follow:

Check In. Participants check-in with each others' feelings and answer the prompt given by the facilitator if any.

Conversation. Your facilitator will guide the group through free-flowing conversation coupled with some simple exercises or activities —with the goal of sharing openly, connecting to your emotions and learning specific skills.

Check Out. Participants share what they're taking away from the session.

What's SoulUp's refund policy for Groups?

1. After you have registered for the group and you'd like to opt out:
- Full refund if you cancel 30 days before the group start date.
- 50% refund if you cancel 16-30 days before the group start date.
- No refund if you cancel 0-15 days before the group start date.

2. If SoulUp cancels a group, we will refund the entire signup fee.

3. If SoulUp reschedules a group by more than 2 weeks, we will inform you and give you an option to opt out and get a full refund.

4. SoulUp reserves the right to remove participants from a group if found unsuitable to the group. In such cases participants are given the option of claiming the pro-rata amount left as a refund or using it for another service on SoulUp.
