Goals of the Group

Expect to gain a heightened self-awareness, delving into the intricacies of their social anxiety triggers, thought patterns, and behaviors. The group serves as a haven for acquiring practical coping strategies and techniques, equipping participants with a comprehensive toolkit to effectively manage anxiety in various social situations.

The group dynamic facilitates gradual exposure to social scenarios in a controlled and supportive environment, contributing to desensitization and a growing comfort level over time. Importantly, this is the space to interact with peers who share similar struggles, significantly diminishing feelings of isolation.

Who is it for?

The group is designed for individuals of all ages who grapple with social anxiety, including those diagnosed with social anxiety disorders or experiencing general social anxiety. A space for introverts, shy individuals, and anyone seeking understanding and strategies to navigate social interactions with greater ease. It is tailored for those looking to build confidence, connect with understanding peers, and explore practical coping strategies to overcome the challenges posed by social anxiety.

Sesion 1: Finding the why behind my social anxiety

Session 2: Developing strenghts to overcome SAD

1. Knowing your values and Goals
2. Mindfulness exercise to develope different connection with thoughts
3. Learning the strategy of Defusion to fight self-defeating thoughts.

Session 3: Exposure at your own level

1. Being with your anxiety
2. Taking VITAL actions with example
3. Builidng your long and short term goals to overcome social anxiety

Meet your Facilitator

Psy. Shatarupa

Shatarupa C is a Counselling Psychologist and an Expressive Arts Based Therapist who's been practising in Bangalore for 6+ years. Her goal is to create a space where you feel the utmost amount of safety and comfort. She believes that human beings are able to explore, play and develop the most when they feel like they're being fully understood and accepted. To be witnessed without judgement is a wonderful thing. :)

She has completed her UG degree from Miranda House, Delhi University. PG degree from Ambedkar University, Delhi and her Expressive Arts Based Therapy license is from UNESCO-CID. Her approach brings together elements from 3 schools of Psychology - Psychodynamic, Expressive Arts and CBT. She also brings in Philosophical Counselling as an approach based on need and meaning.

In her personal life, she enjoys finding new music, playing board games and asking her friends tough philosophical questions.

What happens in a group session?

While the format can vary as per topic, here’s a flow that most sessions follow

Check In. Participants check-in with each others' feelings and answer the prompt given by the facilitator if any.

Conversation. Your facilitator will guide the group through free-flowing conversation coupled with some simple exercises or activities —with the goal of sharing openly, connecting to your emotions and learning specific skills.

Check Out. Participants share what they're taking away from the session.

How is confidentiality maintained in Groups?

Confidentiality in Support Groups is maintained using secure meeting links and enabling waiting rooms to control participant access. Participants are bound by mutual confidentiality clause within the group. and sessions are not recorded without explicit consent.

Are Group sessions done on video?

Yes, all group sessions are conducted on video via Zoom.

While participants are allowed to use pseudonyms - they need to be on video to make the most of the session.

What is SoulUp's refund policy on Groups?

1. After you have registered for the group and you'd like to opt out:
- Full refund if you cancel 30 days before the group start date.
- 50% refund if you cancel 16-30 days before the group start date.
- No refund if you cancel 0-15 days before the group start date.

2. If SoulUp cancels a group, we will refund the entire signup fee.

3. If SoulUp reschedules a group by more than 2 weeks, we will inform you and give you an option to opt out and get a full refund.

4. SoulUp reserves the right to remove participants from a group if found unsuitable to the group. In such cases participants are given the option of claiming the pro-rata amount left as a refund or using it for another service on SoulUp.

Can I use multiple discounts while signing up for a group?

You can use only 1 type discount while signing up for a group. Cash backs cannot be coupled with discounts either.

What is the frequency of Peer calls I can book as part of the 'Unlimited offer'?

You can book 1 Peer call per week during the duration of the group. This will prevent fatigue and give you time to process information discussed in any Peer call.
