A big life-changing moment was my grandfather’s passing away when I was 30. Prior to this, I only had a theoretical knowledge of death and didn’t have too many emotions or knowledge on how to deal with losing someone very close and the concept of death itself. Spending time with a sick person in a hospital for many months (which in itself was a tough but eye-opening experience) and ultimately dealing with their passing away - took many months of introspection, reading books, reaching out to people online, journaling and sharing my stories.

I have also been rather naive regarding romantic relationships in my younger days, with very few role models in good relationships. I always knew I would choose my own partner but to do that, I would have to take the slightly challenging path of online dating (COVID times and beyond), opening myself up to different people, making peace with societal pressure and above all, knowing what I really want in a partner. Although, this was a tough path with many days of confusion, disappointment, hearts broken, never-ending and sometimes exhausting cycle of meeting new people, yearning for true companionship but never knowing if I'm ever going to find that person. Ultimately, I did get married to a great person, but the takeaway here is how I evolved myself to reach this point. Would love to listen and understand your experiences and share our perspectives with each other!

I am a mentor to college-going kids from underprivileged backgrounds and plan to get certified in other areas of coaching in the next 1-2 years.
