Goals of the Group

The support group will help participants deal with the challenges that come with divorces, such as co-parenting, dealing with the emotions, the actual divorce process, and more.

Who is the group for?

This group is for anyone who is going through a divorce, has been through one, or are contemplating the decision. Some of us initiated our divorce, others were "dumped". Some divorces involved infidelity. We are all here to provide support for each other.

What will we talk about?

Your story
• Unpacking your feelings of hurt
• Finding solace in others’ stories

The day to day
• Feeling isolated, disconnected, or misunderstood
• The highs and lows of the new normal
• Dealing with reactions from your social circles
• Managing your kids and trying to shield them from after-effects
• Exploring support structures and the role they play
• Managing finances and related challenges

Charting a new future
• What if feels like to start over
• Identifying what we really want in this next chapter
• Exploring hindrances in belief or confidence to achieve it
• Rediscovering romantic relationships and dealing with potential triggers

  • Thank you for your stories, your video links, book suggestions, podcasts, and just making me realize I am not alone. Those of you who got a head start have been inspiring proof that things will work out in the future.

    Co-parenting our two kids

  • Hearing all stories, and seeing the support has been a real comfort and has let me reclaim sanity and find closure for myself.

    Separated amicably.

  • I found my SO was cheating about six months ago and it destroyed me on every level. I got into therapy immediately but I wanted more support and this group has been extremely helpful.

What happens in a group session?

While the format can vary as per topic, here’s a flow that most sessions follow

Check In. Participants check-in with each others' feelings and answer the prompt given by the facilitator if any.

Conversation. Your facilitator will guide the group in a free-flowing conversation—with the goal of sharing openly, talking honestly, and deep emotional connection.

Check Out. Participants share what they're taking away from the session.

What am i going to get out of this?

Participants say that they feel heard, understood, more in control, and a feeling that you’ve got people rooting for you. By talking about your emotions and what's going on in your life, you'll realise that you're not alone and get ideas for how to improve your situation.
