About me

Ria is a Counselling Psychologist with a Master's in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia, Canada. After spending eight years in Canada, she returned to Hyderabad, bringing experience across clinical, community, crisis intervention, and educational settings. Her background includes over 300 hours of therapy practice, 350+ crisis support conversations, and mentoring more than 75 students.

Ria works primarily with young adults navigating relationship concerns, burnout, perfectionism, self-worth, identity, sexuality, life transitions, and the challenges of balancing personal growth with family and cultural expectations. She also supports couples in understanding and changing patterns that contribute to conflict, distance, or disconnection.

Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and integrative, with a strong foundation in Narrative Therapy. She believes that the problem is not the person, but something that can be understood and addressed together. By exploring the stories, experiences, and patterns that shape the present, Ria helps clients cultivate greater self-compassion, clarity, and meaningful, lasting change in a safe and non-judgmental space.

Therapy Bookings: Terms & Conditions

Sessions coordinated directly with the therapist

Once you book a session with a therapist via SoulUp, we put you in touch with them via WhatsApp allowing you and your therapist to coordinate on a mutually convenient time.

Cancellation policy

You can reschedule or cancel sessions or switch therapists upto 24 hours of the slotted time, post which no rescheduling or refund of sessions is possible.

Late to session policy

If you are over 15 mins late to the session, then the session will be held cancelled and no refund will be available. This has been done to ensure a 'full' session for you as well as to ensure enough gap-time for the therapist before their next session.

Cancelling part of a bundled session

For sessions bought as bundle of 4 at discounted price - if after n sessions, either the therapist or the client wants to discontinue sessions, we initiate refund of remaining sessions. In this case, the actual non-discounted price is deducted for each completed session (instead of the pro-rata amount per session) from the price of the bundled offering and the refund is issued.
