About me

Janice James is a therapist and the founder of Unfinished Stories, a space that encourages people to understand themselves with greater curiosity and less judgment. She works with adults (18+) navigating anxiety, trauma, work-life integration, family dynamics, and relationship concerns.

Her approach is trauma-informed and queer-affirmative, with a strong emphasis on self-exploration and understanding rather than “fixing” what feels wrong. Janice believes therapy can be a space to become more curious about one's experiences, understand different parts of oneself, and build a life that feels more authentic and aligned.

Her therapeutic approach draws from Internal Family Systems, Inner Child Work, Narrative practices, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She adapts these approaches to each client's needs, creating a collaborative and reflective space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns with greater self-awareness and compassion.

Based in New Delhi, Janice works with clients across India as well as NRIs and members of the Indian diaspora globally, with sessions scheduled to accommodate different time zones. She also offers a free 15-minute exploratory call for those who would like to understand more about therapy or her approach before scheduling a session.

Therapy Bookings: Terms & Conditions

Sessions coordinated directly with the therapist

Once you book a session with a therapist via SoulUp, we put you in touch with them via WhatsApp allowing you and your therapist to coordinate on a mutually convenient time.

Cancellation policy

You can reschedule or cancel sessions or switch therapists upto 24 hours of the slotted time, post which no rescheduling or refund of sessions is possible.

Late to session policy

If you are over 15 mins late to the session, then the session will be held cancelled and no refund will be available. This has been done to ensure a 'full' session for you as well as to ensure enough gap-time for the therapist before their next session.

Cancelling part of a bundled session

For sessions bought as bundle of 4 at discounted price - if after n sessions, either the therapist or the client wants to discontinue sessions, we initiate refund of remaining sessions. In this case, the actual non-discounted price is deducted for each completed session (instead of the pro-rata amount per session) from the price of the bundled offering and the refund is issued.
