About me

Pawan Sony is a counselling psychologist with over eight years of experience, working primarily with adult individuals and couples across a wide range of emotional and relational concerns. He is a queer- and trans-affirmative, trauma-informed, and shame-informed therapist, committed to creating an inclusive, empathetic, and non-judgemental therapeutic space.

He holds a Master’s degree in Psychology, an advanced diploma in counselling, and additional training in family and couples therapy, narrative therapy, and clinical hypnotherapy. His approach is eclectic and integrative, drawing from person-centred therapy, narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and hypnotherapy, along with elements of schema therapy, somatic work, REBT, CBT, and expressive approaches.

Pawan works through relational and attachment-based lenses, supporting clients in exploring deeper emotional patterns and experiences. His areas of expertise include LGBTQIA+ concerns, trauma and PTSD, relationship and marital issues, loneliness, depression, anxiety, personality-related challenges, self-esteem, and anger management.

He works with young adults, adults, and senior citizens, offering therapy in English and Hindi. His practice is grounded in values of empathy, confidentiality, equality, humanism, and a strong client-centred approach.

Therapy Bookings: Terms & Conditions

Sessions coordinated directly with the therapist

Once you book a session with a therapist via SoulUp, we put you in touch with them via WhatsApp allowing you and your therapist to coordinate on a mutually convenient time.

Cancellation policy

You can reschedule or cancel sessions or switch therapists upto 24 hours of the slotted time, post which no rescheduling or refund of sessions is possible.

Late to session policy

If you are over 15 mins late to the session, then the session will be held cancelled and no refund will be available. This has been done to ensure a 'full' session for you as well as to ensure enough gap-time for the therapist before their next session.

Cancelling part of a bundled session

For sessions bought as bundle of 4 at discounted price - if after n sessions, either the therapist or the client wants to discontinue sessions, we initiate refund of remaining sessions. In this case, the actual non-discounted price is deducted for each completed session (instead of the pro-rata amount per session) from the price of the bundled offering and the refund is issued.
