About me

Meenakshi Kothari is a Psychologist with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, New York, where she specialised in Global Mental Health and Technology in Psychotherapy. Her clinical experience includes working with underserved populations at Montefiore Einstein in New York, alongside research and conference presentations in the U.S.

Meenakshi believes therapy is a collaborative process—an opportunity to have someone walk alongside you as you navigate difficult experiences, understand yourself better, and work towards meaningful change. She brings empathy, active listening, and an ability to sit with complexity, creating a therapeutic relationship that feels collaborative rather than prescriptive.

Her approach is eclectic and draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. She has facilitated tele-therapy groups for pregnant women experiencing anxiety and depression, as well as parents of children with Autism.

As a certified Health and Wellness Coach, Meenakshi also incorporates goal-setting and motivational interviewing techniques to support sustainable change. She remains committed to ongoing learning through research, workshops, and continued professional development.

Therapy Bookings: Terms & Conditions

Sessions coordinated directly with the therapist

Once you book a session with a therapist via SoulUp, we put you in touch with them via WhatsApp allowing you and your therapist to coordinate on a mutually convenient time.

Cancellation policy

You can reschedule or cancel sessions or switch therapists upto 24 hours of the slotted time, post which no rescheduling or refund of sessions is possible.

Late to session policy

If you are over 15 mins late to the session, then the session will be held cancelled and no refund will be available. This has been done to ensure a 'full' session for you as well as to ensure enough gap-time for the therapist before their next session.

Cancelling part of a bundled session

For sessions bought as bundle of 4 at discounted price - if after n sessions, either the therapist or the client wants to discontinue sessions, we initiate refund of remaining sessions. In this case, the actual non-discounted price is deducted for each completed session (instead of the pro-rata amount per session) from the price of the bundled offering and the refund is issued.
